Bio

Gary Swift made history for disability snooker in December 2023 by becoming one of the first gold medalists in the sport at the World Abilitysport Games.

In an event that saw snooker represented in a multi-sport games for the first time since the 1988 Paralympic Games, Swift stormed to a first place finish in Group 1 with a 3-1 victory over Kurt Deklerck, Belgium’s greatest ever wheelchair snooker player, in the gold medal match.

From Sheffield in England, Swift won his first WDBS title on debut at the 2022 Stockport Open and has also reach the final at the 2023 Hull Open, 2023 UK Disability Championship and 2024 Champion of Champions.

Swift’s consistent performances since joining the tour have seen him rise as high as second in the Group 1+2 world rankings.
