Blackburn’s Shabir Ahmed has established himself as the most successful deaf player at WDBS competitions having claimed an unmatched 11 titles so far.
He made his debut at the 2017 Paul Hunter Disability Classic, where he defeated Lewis Knowles 3-0 to claim his first title in Derby.
He has twice won three consecutive events on tour and his biggest success to date was perhaps his victory at the 2019 Champion of Champions, where he defeated Knowles 8-5 to reverse a 5-4 defeat to the same opponent a year earlier.
In 2019 he also became the inaugural winner of the Disability Tour Championship at the iconic Crucible Theatre, with victories against Nick Neale and Daniel Blunn.
