Entries are now open for the 2024 edition of the WDBS Belgian Open, which will take place in the historic city of Bruges from 15-17 March.

The tournament is being hosted by the fully-accessible Trickshot Club for the fifth time and will be open to all eight disability classification groups.

FORMAT

The tournament will take place between Friday 15 March and Sunday 17 March.

There will be no formal open day at the event and it is planned for the first matches to start at no later than 6pm on the Friday. Please note that players will be expected to play on this day unless they can demonstrate exceptional circumstances before entering the event.

As with all WDBS events, a minimum of four entries are required to run a Group tournament. We reserve the right to combine groups where necessary.

TRAVEL

Bruges is easily accessible from the UK by car, rail and air.

The venue is a five minute drive or 10-minute bus ride from Bruges Central Station. Alternatively, it is within driving distance of the below airports:

  • Ostend – Bruges Airport – 30-minute drive to venue
  • Brussels Airport Zaventem – 70-minute drive to venue
  • Brussels Airport Charleroi – 100 minute drive to venue

As in previous years, the WBDS plan to run a return minibus service for the event.

HOW TO ENTER

Entry for all WDBS events is made through the WPBSA SnookerScores website:

  1. Determine your classification and choose your event: Your disability must fall under one of our 36 WDBS Classification Profiles, which have been grouped into eight ‘Groups’ for competition.
  2. Download the Event Entry Form: Once you have decided which event you would like to enter, read the entry form (linked above) and the latest WDBS Standard Conditions of Entry attached to it.
  3. Enter Online: All event entries are to be made through the WPBSA SnookerScores website. Either register or log in to your existing account and select the event that you wish to enter from the WDBS organisation page or from the ‘My Player’ section of your account.
  4. Pay the Entry Fee: Once you have entered the event, you can pay your entry fee online via the ‘My Payments’ section of your account.

Your entry will only be formally accepted upon receipt of your online entry AND payment of your entry fee by the event entry deadline (Friday 23 February at 12:00pm GMT).
