The official WDBS rankings have been updated for the final time this season following the 2025 Hull Open at The Tradewell Snooker Club in Hull.
The WDBS ranking system includes individual ranking lists for each of the main classification groups, with players earning points from based upon their finishing position at designated ranking tournaments.
The rankings operate on a rolling two-year basis, with points earned during 2022/23 to be removed during the course of this season. At this revision points earned at the 2025 Hull Open were added with points from the same event in 2023 removed.
Kristof De Bruyn has become the new world number one in the Group 8 deaf classification to round off an unforgettable season that saw him become the World Disability Snooker champion earlier this year.
Despite losing at the quarter-final stage in Hull, De Bruyn has overtaken England’s Luke Drennan by just 200 points to become the first ever WDBS world number one to hail from Belgium.
Dave Bolton (Group 5) is the only current top ranked player to have taken home the gold medal in Hull and he increased his lead over second-placed Dalton Lawrence to a remarkable 45,900 points as a result.
Runs to the final for Dave Beaumont (Group 1+2) and Colvin O’Brien (Group 7) saw them each also increase their advantage at the summit of the rankings despite losing out to Mahomed Abubaker and Mike Gillespie respectively in the title matches.
Meanwhile, each of Kal Mattu (Group 3), Carl Gibson (Group 4), Alan Reynolds (Group 6A) and Matthew Haslam (Group 6B) have each seen their leads narrowed following earlier exits at the Tradewell Snooker Club.
The field for the prestigious Champion of Champions event is now known following the conclusion of the final ranking event of the season in Hull last month.
The prestigious one-day event sees the top two ranked players from each classification group invited to compete for the Nick Oliver Trophy in a best-of-11 frame contest at the Landywood Snooker Club on Saturday 14 June.
Five out of the eight classification groups already had their top two confirmed prior to embarking on the Tradewell Snooker Club and the match-ups for the other three groups are now confirmed.
Ireland’s Daniel Kelly will compete at the event for the first time in his career after he overtook the absent Joe Hardstaff, who has won the title for the last two years, into second place and will face Kal Mattu at the season finale.
Elsewhere, Dave Beaumont and Tony Southern maintained their top two positions in Group 1+2 while Alan Reynolds and Mohammed Faisal Butt were able to do the same in Group 6A to set up Champion of Champions meetings.
